  • 01 - What is USD Extended Care?

    USD Extended Care is a before and after school program in Union School District. We offer a high quality care program that serves as an extension of the school day. Our valuable staff members plan and facilitate a variety of activities for the students at our school sites.

  • 02 - What are your hours of operation?

    USD Extended Care is open as follows:

    • Before school care (elementary sites only): 7:00am until the start of school
      • Before school care at Lietz Elementary will start at 6:30am
    • After school care: from school dismissal until 6:00pm


    Please note that USD Extended Care will close early at 4:00pm on June 9, 2023.

  • 03 - How does drop off & pick up work?

    To ensure safety, all children being dropped off or picked up from Extended Care must be signed in and/or out before leaving campus. 

    Parents do not need to sign their child in when they are dismissed from school: 

    • Younger children are picked up directly from their classroom by Extended Care staff.
    • Older children walk directly from their classroom to the Extended Care site, where our staff signs them in. 
  • 04 - Can I pickup my child at any time?

    Yes, we have an open door policy. Parents are welcome to pickup their child at any time. 

  • 05 - Does my child need to be escorted in and out of the extended care program?

    Yes. All children must be escorted in and out of the designated pick up/drop off area by an authoized adult or a sibling over the age of 16.

  • 06 - What if I am late to pick up my child?

    All late pickups will result in a fee. Our late pick up fee is calculated as followed: $10.00 for the first 5 minutes and an additional $1.00 per minute going forward. This fee is per child and must be paid within 2 business days.

  • 07 - Can my child drop-in?

    Children enrolled in a current USD Extended Care program can request a drop in day by contacting the site supervisor. For example, a child who regularly attends after school two days a week can drop-in for additional days during the week. Advance notice and fee payment is required for all drop-ins. Please see our Tuition Pricing Sheet for more details.

    Alternatively, for the 2022-23 school year we are pleased to offer a Non-Contract Drop In service. This program is for children who are not enrolled in USD Extended care on a regular basis, but will require some drop in days.   • 08 - Are you open during holidays?

    The USD Extended Care program follows the board approved district calendar. We are closed all legal holidays and Union School District local holidays. Please see the Extended Care Calendar for more details.

  • 09 - What are non-school days?

    Non-school days refer to Staff Development Days. On these dates, USD Extended Care will provide full day care to currently enrolled Extended Care students. This additional service requires advance registration. There is no fee for this service as long as your child is contracted for that day. A fee will apply if you would like your child to attend and it is outside of your contract.

  • 10 - Will school year camps be available?

    USD Extended Care plans to offer the following school year camps. These camps will require separate enrollment and tuition. The school year camp tuition rate is $72 per day.

    • Thanksgiving Week (3 days)
    • Winter Break (4 days)
    • Presidents' Week (3 days)
    • Spring Break (4 days)
  • 11 - How can I request a schedule change?

    Schedule changes must be requested online through a users Eleyo profile or via email. Parents must notify the site supervisor two full billing weeks before an effective change in the child’s schedule. Future tuition will be recalculated and the remaining monthly payments will be adjusted to reflect the requested change in schedule.

  • 12 - How can I withdraw my child from the program?

    Regardless of the reason, parents must notify the site supervisor in writing four full billing weeks before withdrawing their child from Union Extended Care. Final tuition will be recalculated and parents will be financially responsible for all the weeks their child has attended Extended Care, including the four weeks of notice. Final payment will be due one week before the agreed withdrawal date. If the parent chooses to return to Union Extended Care, a new $50 re-registration fee will be required. Children will be unable to enroll in Union School District camps or the subsequent year if I have an outstanding balance due.

  • 13 - What if my child is sick?

    Please notify your site leader when your child is sick and will not be attending Extended Care. Students who are absent from school or sent home from school for any reason are not permitted to attend Extended Care. Students who are sent home with a fever are not permitted to attend Extended Care until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication.

  • 14 - Are snacks provided?

    USD Extended Care follows the Union School District Wellness policy. Daily snacks are provided and parents must notify staff of any food allergies, sensitivities, and/or preferences. Parents can provide an alternative snack if their child cannot have the snack provided.

  • 15 - What if my child has medical needs or allergy concerns?

    During the online registration process, parents must complete enrollment questions regarding allergies, medication needs, and dietary restrictions. Parents are responsible for keeping this information up to date in their online account.

    If a child needs medication while at Extended Care, then the child's physician and the parent will fill out the Union School District Medication Release form. The form and medication (in its original box with the doctor’s orders) must be given to the Extended Care Site.

  • 16 - When is tuition due?

  • 17 - Is an online payment method required?

    Yes. Saving a payment method in your profile is required in order to complete the registration process. All payment methods (credit card or e-check) are securely saved within your Eleyo profile, and no charges will be made until your contract is approved.

  • 18 - How do I make a payment for tuition or additional fees?

    USD Extended Care tuition and fees will be invoiced monthly. All payments and fees must be paid through our online platform.

  • 19 - Is it possible to set up split payments?

    Split payments are when more than one parent/guardian will make a payment on a single tuition invoice/bill.  In order to facilitate split payments the account owner (parent or guardian) must contact Kristi Martik at martikk@unionsd.org.

  • 20 - What are your late fees?

    All children must be picked up no later than 6:00 p.m. each day. A late fee of $10 will be charged for any child not picked up at 6:00 p.m. The fee is non-negotiable and increases to an additional $1 per minute after 6:05 p.m. Excessive late pick-ups can result in termination of services.

    Refunds and make up days are not available. If a child goes home from the care program during the day for any reason, they cannot return that day. 

  • 21 - Do you offer financial assistance or subsidy assistance?

    USD Extended Care works with local subsidy programs. If tuition is paid by a subsidized agency, then parents will be responsible for all paperwork and must provide Extended Care the approved agency’s certificate prior to the start of the session. Parents are financially responsible for any co-pays or unpaid tuition from the subsidy agency.

    01 - What is USD Extended Care?

Final payment will be due one week before the agreed withdrawal date. If the parent chooses to return to Union Extended Care, a new $50 re-registration fee will be required. Children will be unable to enroll in Union School District camps or the subsequent year if I have an outstanding balance due.


    13 - What if my child is sick?

  • Summer Camp - Are refunds possible?

    Refund Policy - General

    • I understand that all changes to my child’s schedule must be made by May 31st at 3pm.
    • I understand that refunds will not be given for any schedule changes or withdrawals requested after May 31st at 3pm.


    Refund Policy - COVID-19

    • Due to the high cost of running a program under the current health guidelines, the following is our refund policy for Extended Care:
      • No refund for voluntary withdrawal
      • No refund for travel related quarantine
      • No refund for exclusion due to behavior or illness
      • No refund for program closure(s) less than 3 days
      • Partial refund if a closure lasts 3 or more days
      • All refunds will be provided as a check via mail; refunds may take up to two weeks to be processed.
  • Summer Camp - Are withdrawals and schedule changes possible?

    Schedule Changes & Withdrawals

    • Schedule changes and withdrawals will not be accepted after 3pm on May 31 without exception.
    • To request a withdrawal or schedule change prior to the deadline please email Kristi Martik at martikk@unionsd.org.
    • Families will be financially responsible for all tuition due for registered sessions, regardless of attendance.

    Please review our Billing Schedule to learn more about the financial policies and tuition for Summer Camp 2022.

  • Summer Camp - Can I choose which weeks during the summer to enroll?

    Yes. Children can be enrolled for single weeks of summer camp.

  • Summer Camp - Is there a part time enrollment option for Summer Camp?

    No. We are unable to offer part time enrollment options. Enrollment is for the entire week, however the child does not have to attend all 5 days.
