Yes. Extended Care operates immediately following school dismissal times. There is a higher tuition fee for TK/Kinder students who have early dismissal the first 6-7 weeks of school to cover the extra time in the program.
To ensure safety, all children being dropped off or picked up from Extended Care must be signed in and/or out before leaving campus.
Parents do not need to sign their child in when they are dismissed from school:
Please review our detailed instructions on how to add authorized pickups to your account. You may also call 669-222-2005 for assistance.
Yes, we have an open door policy. Parents are welcome to pickup their child at any time.
Yes. All children must be escorted in and out of the designated pick up/drop off area by an authorized adult or a sibling over the age of 18.
All late pickups will result in a fee. Our late pick up fee is calculated as followed: $10.00 for the first 5 minutes and an additional $1.00 per minute going forward. This fee is per child and must be paid within 2 business days.
Children enrolled in a current USD Extended Care program can request a drop in day by contacting the site supervisor. For example, a child who regularly attends after school two days a week can drop-in for additional days during the week. Advance notice, space availability, and fee payment is required for all drop-ins. Please see our Tuition Pricing Sheet for more details.
Alternatively, for the 2023-24 school year we are pleased to offer a Non-Contract Drop In service. This program is for children who are not enrolled in USD Extended care on a regular basis, but will require some drop in days. Please see our Tuition Pricing Sheet for details, exclusions, and cost.
The USD Extended Care program follows the board approved district calendar. We are closed all legal holidays and Union School District local holidays. Please see the Extended Care Calendar for more details.
Non-school days refer to Staff Development Days. On these dates, USD Extended Care will provide full day care to currently enrolled Extended Care students. This additional service requires advance registration. There is no fee for this service as long as your child is contracted for that day. A fee will apply if you would like your child to attend and it is outside of your contract.
For more details please see our calendar and pricing sheets.

USD Extended Care plans to offer the following school year camps. These camps will require separate enrollment and tuition. The October camp cost is $50 per day. All other school year camps cost $76 per day.

Schedule changes must be requested online through a users Eleyo profile or via email. Parents must notify the site supervisor two full billing weeks before an effective change in the child’s schedule. Future tuition will be recalculated and the remaining monthly payments will be adjusted to reflect the requested change in schedule.
Regardless of the reason, parents must notify the site supervisor in writing four full billing weeks before withdrawing their child from Union Extended Care. Final tuition will be recalculated and parents will be financially responsible for all the weeks their child has attended Extended Care, including the four weeks of notice. Final payment will be due one week before the agreed withdrawal date. If the parent chooses to return to Union Extended Care, a new $50 re-registration fee will be required. Children will be unable to enroll in Union School District camps or the subsequent year if the account has an outstanding balance due.
Please notify your site supervisor when your child is sick and will not be attending Extended Care. Students who are absent from school or sent home from school for any reason are not permitted to attend Extended Care. Students who are sent home with a fever are not permitted to attend Extended Care until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication.
USD Extended Care follows the Union School District Wellness policy. Daily snacks are provided and parents must notify staff of any food allergies, sensitivities, and/or preferences. Parents can provide an alternative snack if their child cannot have the snack provided.
During the online registration process, parents must complete enrollment questions regarding allergies, medication needs, and dietary restrictions. Parents are responsible for keeping this information up to date in their online account.
If a child needs medication while at Extended Care, then the child's physician and the parent will fill out the Union School District Medication Release form. The form and medication (in its original box with the doctor’s orders) must be given to the Extended Care Site.
Please see our Billing Schedule for invoice and payment dates.
Union School District has implemented an Extended Learning Opportunity Program (ELO-P), a program funded through the state of California that allows us to provide after school enrichment to qualifying families. We are excited to implement and offer these enrichment activities for students to participate in while helping to ensure their academic success and wellbeing at school.
The state of California sets the qualifications to be eligible to participate in the after-school ELO program. The ELO program runs in partnership with our Union Extended Care program and does not have a monthly tuition fee.
Attendance: Your student is expected to attend the program Monday through Friday from when the school day ends until 6:00 p.m. Regular attendance is requested, as regular attendance at the program will ensure that the student gets the most of what is being offered. If they need to leave earlier on a day, you will need to let the Site Supervisor know the reason for the early pick-up. Your student may be picked up early for one of the following reasons:
Transportation: Transportation for the ELO program falls solely on the parent or guardian. If your student is enrolled in the ELO program, the parent/guardian must pick the student up each day at 6:00 p.m.
Expectations and Behavior: Please be advised that even though ELO Sessions are being offered outside regular classroom hours, school rules still apply. Please be sure to read the parent/guardian handbook for our policy on behavior.
Fees: The only fee for the ELO-P program is a $50 registration fee per student. The rest of the costs are covered through the ELO-P Grant.
Any questions about your Eleyo contract can be directed to ec@unionsd.org. Questions about the Union Extended Care Program can be directed to Edgar Romero at romeroe@unionsd.org.
Yes. Saving a payment method in your profile is required in order to complete the registration process. All payment methods (credit card or e-check) are securely saved within your Eleyo profile, and no charges will be made until your contract is approved.
USD Extended Care tuition and fees will be invoiced monthly. All payments and fees must be paid through our online platform.
For assistance with payment, please contact us at ec@unionsd.org or 669-222-2005.
Split payments are when more than one parent/guardian will make a payment on a single tuition invoice/bill. In order to facilitate split payments the account owner (parent or guardian) must contact us at ec@unionsd.org.
For more information please reference this help sheet: Split Family Payments
All children must be picked up no later than 6:00 p.m. each day. A late fee of $10 will be charged for any child not picked up at 6:00 p.m. The fee is non-negotiable and increases to an additional $1 per minute after 6:05 p.m. Excessive late pick-ups can result in termination of services.
Refunds and make up days are not available. If a child goes home from the care program during the day for any reason, they cannot return that day.
USD Extended Care works with local subsidy programs. If tuition is paid by a subsidized agency, then parents will be responsible for all paperwork and must provide Extended Care the approved agency’s certificate prior to the start of the session. Parents are financially responsible for any co-pays or unpaid tuition from the subsidy agency.
For more information please contact us at ec@unionsd.org or 669-222-2005.
Scholarships are not available at this time.
Middle school students may have the opportunity to participate in off-site walking field trips to local businesses and restaurants. These are not mandatory and families must provide permission for students to attend the trip. If a student elects to not participate, a USD employee will remain on site with the students. Details about the trip will be shared in advance.
Voluntary student accident insurance options are available. Please review the Health & Wellness in USD webpage for more information.
When space opens for your student you will be notified one week in advance. The space can only be held for your student for a maximum of two weeks.
The Extended Care department values our staff and will provide adequate professional development. Program will be closed on district professional development days, but camp will be offered at one location for an additional fee. Families will be charged full tuition every week, and will receive a 3% adjustment for weeks that include a professional development day.
